Sony FX-9 camera
The latest advancement in camera technology from Sony is the FX-9 camera. An upgrade to the very popular FS-7 camera, this new camera is sure to become a favourite. The design and build allows you to do everything from broadcast to reality TV to documentaries to corporate videos with ease. With an oversampled 6k sensor and choice of full frame or super 35mm sensor, you can capture 4K images with amazing cinematic depth of field and clarity.
Dynamic Range
15 stops of dynamic range ensures you get every nuance in the shot. And editors/colorists will love the creative freedom in colour grading and post work.
S-Cinetone or S-log3
Need a fast turn around or don't have the budget to do colour grading? Not a problem. With s-cinetone you get a ready to go look straight out of the camera. With rich midrange colours, alluring facial tones, and a softer tonal look developed with the same expertise as Sony's world-leading VENICE cinematography camera it's ready to go. And if you want to do the colour grading, Sony's highly valued s-log3 is ready to go. The choice is yours.
Frame rates
Slow motion or time lapse this camera can do it. Frame rates from 1-60fps in 4K and 1-180fps in HD combined with the full frame sensor results in beautiful cinematic off speed shooting.
Variable ND filter
Taking after the FS-7 ii the FX-9 also has the variable ND filter allowing you to maintain that shallow depth of field and consistent F-stop throughout the shoot. It can be adjusted from 1/4 to 1/128 in smooth increments as lighting changes.
Dual ISO
The Sony FX-9 comes with a dual base iso, allowing you to change the iso without incurring noise in the picture but still be able to get proper exposure in bright or low light conditions. At base 800 iso this is perfect for outdoors or bright interiors. When the sun is setting or at a dimly lit backstage concert, bump the iso to the second base iso of 4000 and capture that moment with no added "noise" in the picture. Push the iso to 8000 with hardly any noticeable increase in grain. A great low light camera.
